Tottenham won league one mid table club Portsmouth at home with minimal 1:0 victory in the game which shows where our reserve team with Kane and Son really is. Sad fact is that if we don't have Kane we'd probably play new game or shot penalties after game against this average side from division one. Goal is again his masterpiece, he ran paralel with penalty box line, gave ball to Sessegnion who managed to return it in front of him for superb strike for goal.
Squad was: Forster - ROYAL(!!) Tanganga Sanchez Davies Sessegnon, Skipp, Sarr, Gil, Kane, Son. Fact that we saw Royal against division one opposition is unacceptable. If main reason for not putting Spence in squad is lack of experience in Premier League because he played in Championship, why can't he start against league one team ? A lot of fans were irritated with this Emerson Royal picking up. We saw Djed Spence around 10 minutes before the end, but not instead of Royal but Sess, while Royal moved to left side. It's like Conte wanted to see if he can play left wing back. If you ask me Royal didn't show anything more on left side than he is showing on right. Spence looked scared to go forward with ball, or followed Conte's instructions not to do so. I saw him with ball and plenty of space in front of him returning ball back showing on other side pointing toward Emerson in change side of play style. Conte told he is satisfied with him and his tactical approach which tells me he wanted to check Emerson on left. Portsmouth right back was just to good.
Son canceled theory saying Ivan Perisic and him are not compatible and that Ivan is strangling Korean on left side while both are playing. He played with Sess and struggled again. I don't know why is this happening.
Some fans claimed Gil and Sarr are good enough to stay in club and to be rotating options or have some game time against not the best opposition. I think Sarr was good in both games, but opposition was not to good and he need to work on passing. On the other hand I saw him doing Rodrigo Bentancur's thing like carrying ball around between opponents and using his long legs to intercept balls. Gil is burning from wish to play, he falls, stands up, tries hard. Sometimes he got dispossessed, but sometimes he found Harry Kane which is equal to having assist in the game. Some people are saying George Best was of same constitution and played in much rougher times. I am close to think they can stay and be rotation option.
We didn't play any special football against Portsmouth, but as Kane said and Tanganga copied on twitter "Job done". I have understanding because game was in damn 12:30 to early again. One team from top 7 got eliminated yesterday by no less than player with name Windass, one other deserved that too, but FA_PGMOL saved them!
I love the most referee decisions about offside or penalty when I don't know reason for decision because that reminds me on home Serbian league. LoL I am joking of course. However I still don't know why Wolverhampton's third goal was not counted and who was in offside. They say ball receiver ex corner taker, but even that is highly unlikely. What is highly likely is fact that any referee in sane state of brain would give straight red card to Robertson for deliberate jumping on face of Adama Traore who was lying down on the pitch. Liverpool player for absolutely no reason "tried to jump" over him but landed his foot on Adama's face. Blatant red card for me, not a yellow for referee. It's amazing what Liverpool players can do on the pitch and don't get fouls against them or cards...
