Interesting idea which is tickling my mind
There are moves made by football geniuses which launch player into world class Ballon D'Or winners. Let's mention some. Moving Cristiano Ronaldo from left wing to striker by Sir Alex Fergusson, moving Luka Modric in center of midfield by Harry Redknapp. When skillful manager recognize qualities in player and ability to play even better than on current position that lead toward big things. I saw the best youtube channel dedicated to Tottenham called TottenhamAwayTV. It has good members who do quality content. Yesterday I heard interesting idea which is tickling my mind since. It's playing Romero on position number 6 in Tottenham! Spurs are short with number 6 with Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Skipp, Bentancur, Sarr, Madders all showed they can't play good in that role against top notch opponents. That's why Spurs want to spend big money on player who will play that and they mention Gallagher from Chelsea. Why would we spend limited transfer founds when we might already have solution in the squad, but we didn't try it ? What is responsibility and task of number 6 ? He need to protect defenders, to cut opponent play, to win ball for it's team and also to take ball and go forward with it, pass forward, connect defense and upper parts of squad in midfield, right ? What qualities he need to have ? Pace, good running engine, ability to tackle to win ball, to know dark arts to stop dangerous attack without getting yellow card, to be dirty when situation requires, to be able to run forward with the ball, to pass forward, to be calmed and secure with the ball and to read the game well in terms to predict opponents and team mates next move. Who can protect defenders better than "the best defender in the world" like Messi said ? Cutie Romero reads the game excellent, he is sharp, he can tackle, he can win ball back, he is calm on the ball, can go around opponents, is not afraid to go forward with the ball, is very very good in forward progressive passes. It looks to me that he has all attributes for number 6! He can also score goals! Like guest on TottenhamTV show, whose idea was this, Adrian Sroka said "I'd like to see that." I can only repeat that. That will also mean we need to put someone on his position of RCB and at the moment it's Dragusin and we don't know if he is ready or not, but we know he can play by head very well. That would give us 3 very good jumpers for set pieces like Romero, Richarlison, Dragusin, with Van de Ven who is tall, but need to work more on this aspect. That could mean we stop conceding goals from set pieces and alas become the biggest danger on attacking set pieces. That could solve three problems at once. Spending money in summer on some other position, solve number 6 problem and set pieces problem. If Dragusin is not excellnet RCB and I think he will become, we can go out and buy Tossin from Fulham or some other and keep Dragusin as backup. We have nothing to play for in rest of the season. We can't be 4th, we will hardly drop to 6th, so why not try this and see if that is working for us? Maybe Romero could become our Rodri ? If it doesn't work we can't lose much, because we almost always lose vs Chelsea and Liverpool away and no fan will point finger on Ange for trying things, but if it works then it could be move on level with those on top of article and everyone will point to Ange in positive way. Maybe we have future Ballon D'Or winner and we don't know it yet ? I must see that attempt, I hope Ange will try that and save Daniel Levy those 50 millions for spending on real attacking striker beast who can fight against 2 or 3 opponents and winger who will make wide backs tremble! Ange you have nothing to lose try it my man! Just do it! Show you are trying different things, show you are not one sided, one minded, maybe you end up written in books like Sir Alex or Redknapp for what they did with Ronaldo and Modric!
