On Thursday, February 17th, 2022, Canada defeated the United States 3-2 in the gold medal game to win the seventh gold medal in Olympic women’s ice hockey history. It was the fifth gold medal for Canada in Olympic women’s ice hockey, as the United States took their third silver medal in Olympic women’s ice hockey with the loss. Finland claimed their fourth bronze medal in Olympic women’s ice hockey with their 4-0 victory over the Switzerland in the bronze medal game. The tournament was held in China, with Beijing as the host city.

Brianne Jenner of Canada scored the most goals during the tournament with nine, while Alex Cavallini of the United States led goaltenders in save percentage at .955.
