I remember watching this game while catching a train from Beijing to Yixing, where I was living at the time.

We led narrowly at half-time, before Fremantle kicked eight goals to two in the second half. Lachie Neale was the star with 37 disposals, eight clearances and one goal.

We lost Rowe in the first quarter and Thomas in the 2nd quarter due to injury.

What I'm excited about

 

  • Circuit breaker, fresh minds and ready to have a crack.
  • Cripps gets the break he desperately needed
  • Playing in Melbourne at Etihad, perfect conditions
  • Michael Walters is out with a suspension. A player like that is crucial for Freo, particularly on the road.
  • Evenly matched in terms of efficiency moving forward, which will give us every chance to win. The question is, will we make the most of our opportunities?
  • Freo haven’t had a bye yet

What I’m worried about

  • Fyfe will have impact
  • When Freo play well in their patches, they look really good
  • Their record against us even at Etihad is good.
