Last time they met
Round 2, 2018 - Carlton 9.13 (67) defeated by Gold Coast Suns 15.11 (101)
- Tom Lynch continued his incredible form against the Blues, booting 8 goals
- Kreuzer was a late out
- We were reactive to the Gold Coast movement, who were in the midst of a three game winning streak
- Gold Coast laid 94 tackles
- The skill errors of Carlton were woeful
What I'm excited about
- Gold Coast getting their much needed win leaves Carlton in a situation where we could be the more desperate side.
- This presents as one of the more "winnable" games for the remainder of the season for the Blues.
- The unstoppable force that is Tom Lynch is out for the season and won't take part this week.
- Kreuzer should be back and at full strength
What I'm concerned about
- Gold Coast winning last week could be the catalyst for change that they needed.
- Playing in the heat is something we struggled with against the Brisbane Lions.
- Losing Jones and Fisher for the season. Both have been important for our structure.
- Jarrod Witts is a very underrated ruckman, coming off a 59 hit out game last week.
Team Selection
IN- Matthew Kreuzer | Darcy Lang | Angus Schumacher
OUT- Liam Jones | Zac Fisher | Matthew Lobbe
Kreuzer should be back this week along with Darcy lang who will replace the injured Zac Fisher.
Schumacher had a breakout game in the VFL on the weekend and it could be a chance to get some senior footy into his 2018 campaign with Liam Jones sidelined.
Go Blues!
