Last time they met
Rd 12, 2017: Carlton 10.11 (71) d GWS 9.16 (70) at Etihad Stadium
- Our best win of the season and biggest upset in years.
- Matthew Kreuzer starred with 21 disposals, one goal, eight tackles and 33 hit-outs, earning three Brownlow votes.
- Docherty 35 disposals and 12 marks
What I'm excited about
- The win last week! It could galvanise the group for the rest of the season as they really showed a spirit and affection for each other that hasn't been seen before
- Younger players are playing with confidence and have now had a breakout performance as individuals and as a collective
- The Cripps and Murphy show
- Dow and O'Brien matching up against the likes of Kelly and Shiel
What I'm nervous about
- Jeremy Cameron is back and will be desperate to gather some form leading into the finals
- The win last week was such an emotional high that we are now in a let down spot
- GWS as a team are making a charge to the finals and have much more at stake
- The running power of the Giants could be lethal if we turn the ball over
- Did I mention Jeremy Cameron?
Suggested changes
IN - Matthew Kreuzer | Nick Graham
OUT - Matthew Lobbe | Jarrod Pickett
I have changed my tune with Graham and after a 37 possession performance in the VFL, I don't have a problem with him being rewarded. Pickett had minimal impact in a game where we had an even spread of contributors.
Weitering could also come out with the corked leg, which could see the potential debut of Angus Schumacher?
