Last time we met

Hawthorn 18.16.124 defeated Carlton 7.10.52

A horrific day for us as Hawthorn were leading by 11 goals at halftime

Tom Mitchell starred with 47 possessions and 2 goals

We were literally witches hats.

Cripps kicked a nice goal

What I’m excited about

Now that we finally have a win on the board, there should be a follow on effect and hopefully turn this period into a momentous run.

Harry McKay's growth. 20 games, 21 years old - we have a special one here. Together with Charlie who should be back in the side, I can't wait to see these young kings continue to dominate.

Our young midfielders growing in confidence and playing with strength and confidence in their bodies.

Hawthorn have debuted quite a few new faces and as such are not as dominant as what they were in the previous few years. This could be a great time to get them before they surge back up the ladder.

What I’m mindful about

Complacency. Having the win on the board could mean a less desperate Carlton side on Sunday.

The experience of the Hawks - they have plenty of legends in their side who have seen pretty much everything in their careers. If we don't put them away, they will make us pay.
