Well. Hi everybody again! I'm new on this website and I had already introduced myself to the community. So, I decided to write my first post about the Marathon Cartoon Network. The objective of this article is to be informative and, if you ever participated in this, the idea is that you share your own experiences. 

What is the Marathon Cartoon about?

The Marathon Cartoon is a competition where the entrants compete for a prize. They must run to win it. The good points of this are that teamwork is promoted because for participating to that, you have to make with a kid. In other words, each team is formed for an adult and a young person (a kid- a teenager until 12 years old). Those people have to get a strong relationship, such as to be mother and son, nephew and uncle, etc. I think that is a positive aspect.

 

What do you need to enter it?

Well, it depends on each country. In Argentina, you can apply for it in a webpage: www.carreracartoon.com.ar. When you have already done that, you would receive a Kit that contains a T-Shirt to each member of your team (2), two numbers and a bracelet. Also, I think you must pay for it (maybe that depends on each country).

Once all of that is done, staff members of the event will classify to the competitors according to categories. Generally, they are:

Until 4 years old – 1 km.

5 years old – 1 km.

6 years old – 1.0 km.

7 years old – 1.5 km.

8 years old – 1.5km.

9 and 10 years old – 2 km.

11 y 12 years old – 3 km.

Is that a sport?

Yes, it is because the competition consists of running and for doing that, all the members of each team must prepare physically. What are the advantages of events like this one?

1 - Because of the fact this is a competition where the team is formed by families, it promotes the teamwork and family ties strengthen because for participating in that event, they must prepare physically: doing exercise routines, moral supporting, etc. And that is something good for them although they don't win the first prize;

2 - Physical activities are made. That is something important to kids because they are in an age where they are growing and need to do sports, as well as adult people, need it because most of them are most of the time busy, working or studying and don't pay attention to this part of his life;

3- The competition is an entertaining and funny activity for adults and kids: why? Well, it is entertaining to adult people because they have the possibility to do something different in order to break the routine. And, it is entertaining and funny for kids because they participate in a cartoon channel competition (Cartoon Network)., a channel that most of the kids watch on the tv.

4 - It is a recreative activity because generally those events are carried out on sunny days, at the weekends and in a green place. Also, there are other activities that you can do while you are at the event.

At the moment, in my country, there is not any information about a new edition of that competition for this year (2018), but I hope that event appears again soon because of the advantages that have.
