European athletics champoinship takes place in Berlin these days. The runners for the longest distance had competition today. Men and women had to run 42,195 kilometers in Berlin. In this post I'd like to write about women's part.

Volha Mazuronak from Belarus 🇧🇾 (I'm also from Belarus 😀) won that race. Her time is 2 hours 26 minutes and 22 seconds. Clemence Calven from France lost 6 seconds and got silver medal. The third is Eva Vrabcova-Nyvltova from Czech Republic. Her gap is 9 seconds from winner. Also 2 my compatriots had the 4th and 5th places. So Belarus got the team cup in marathon race. But this post is not about time, scores, results or something like this. This article is about person and victory will.

Race started as a usual and it was normal during first 10 kilometers. After that Volha Mazuronak could be seen with blood on her face because bleeding from the nose started. She tried to stop bleeding during 7 kilometers and race doctors tried to help her. Fortunately they could do it  approximately in the middle of the race.

But it wes not single dramatic moment for Mazuronak in this race. In the end of distance at last kilometer only two athletes lead the race: Volha Mazuronak and Clemence Calven. She lost about 5-7 seconds while running straight instead of turning to finish. But she was able to accelerate and won 6 seconds in final sprint. So that was really heroic victory for Belarus athlete.
