If you have noticed, the posts about Edwin Valero and Chris Benoit are connected by a fact, both were accused of murdering their wives, today I bring you a very similar case and obviously it is about a world-renowned athlete.

Reality sometimes exceeds fiction, there is no worse way to end a love story between 2 people than on Valentine's Day.

This is the sad end of the career of Oscar Pistorius, the global symbol of overcoming, the human sample that limits are no more than mental barriers that we can all overcome, an athlete who was passionate about athletics and the most beloved representative from South Africa.

Oscar Pistorius was born in a small family of a middle class, came to the world as a different person because he needed the 2 bones(fibula) in both legs putting in fits and headaches to his parents. Before reaching one year of age, the small oscar had to undergo an operation to amputate his lower extremities (with the hope of one day being able to wear prostheses) or otherwise he could not walk for the rest of his life. His parents chose the second option and the little Oscar was operated leaving almost 80% of his legs.

Oscar's childhood was almost the same as the rest since he was very young he already had a love for sports and physical activity, despite his disability, he managed to work harder than other children and did not give up to do what he wanted.

He was the athlete with the highest number of gold medals won, was simply a beast to run distances and managed to emerge victorious in almost all competitions in which he participated. A champion without equal of the Paralympics games, but also took the merit of having been able to compete in the race of 400 meters with the fastest mens of the planet, among them the already retired Usain Bolt.

Oscar was at the peak of his career, he had what any mortal like us would like in his life, fame, and fortune as well as a beautiful wife. He had business with very powerful brands in the world, such as Nike, which was a sponsor that brought him millions of dollars a year.

On February 14, 2013, Oscar Pistorius was arrested for the murder of his wife Reeva Steenkamp, a South African model and perhaps one of the most beautiful women in her country. The official statements and reports tells us that around 3 am, Oscar had noticed the alleged presence of an intruder to his home, according to his statements he was sure that he was a thief so he wielded the weapon that was closest to him, a 9mm pistol and began to chase the thief to his bathroom where he locked himself. Oscar made 4 quick shots at the bathroom, the bullets went through the door and left a deathly silence throughout the urbanization.

Pistorius immediately went into a state of shock, looked at the door with panic and began to shout "oh my god, what have I done", tried to open the bolt of the door but was not able, completely deafened by the power of the bullets and unable of being able to listen to his own cries, he went to his room and opened the door that opened onto the terrace, leaned on the balcony and cheered for help desperately. Beside his bed were his skin-colored prostheses and plastic feet, he placed them quickly and ran to the bathroom door with the intention of knocking her down, however, he failed several times.

Trembling, he grabbed his cricket bat and began to knock on the door with the hope that it would open, after multiple impacts, he managed to make a hole in the side allowing his hand to enter and open the door.

The person behind the door was his blond-haired wife, she was lying on the toilet and her blue eyes were dying. Oscar's first impression was that she was still alive, although the wounds on her head, hip, arm, and fingers had been cultivating, and even the god, whom she was begging to let her live, could not repair the damage caused.

All this had happened in a complex of luxury houses, with a security reinforced enough, so it was normal that a couple of famous life in a place like this.

Oscar tried to lift his wife's bloody body while trying not to vomit because of the putrid smell of blood and metal, painfully trying to cover the hip hemorrhage with a towel, but it was too late to try to do anything.

Before calling the emergency department, he made a 24-second call to the administrator of the complex and told him with a voice that was breaking:

Johan, please, please, come to my house!
I shot Reeva. I thought he was an intruder. Please, please, please, come right away.

Oscar called for emergencies to ask for help but was told that he needed to take Reeva quickly to the nearest hospital. After dragging Reeva's cold body down the stairs, he was surprised by the quick arrival of the villa manager, his eldest daughter and the man who worked as his gardener.

The three remained petrified at such a scene, the first time it was impossible for them to assimilate what was happening before their eyes. That beautiful couple was reduced to a man totally drenched in blood who was crying inconsolably and screaming for help, and the lifeless body of a model.

Stander, the manager of the urbanization told Oscar that the ambulance was coming, and told him to put Reeva on the carpet, together they tried to find some small sign of life in his emaciated face, however, it was useless. Stander placed his hands over the hemorrhaging of the hip, which had caused the greatest leakage of blood.

A neighbor who was a radiologist went to the mansion because he had noticed the thunderous shots, quickly lay down to review the body of Reeva but then noticed that the bullet had broken skull in the brain, also left exposed to brain tissue, his pupils did not react to any external stimulus for what was clinically declared death, then the paramedics arrived to corroborate this diagnosis.

Perhaps the hardest news Oscar had to say was to his friend Justin Divaris, the boy who had introduced him to Reeva, the boy who had sealed the fate of the model.

Actually, the case is quite long so I'm going to summarize what happened next. The police came to the house and took pictures of the body, the scene of the crime and Oscar himself, who was taken prisoner by the uniformed police. The trial in which the relatives of Reeva alleged by the maximum penalty so that Oscar paid the crime of having snatched the life to the Young model, on the other hand, Oscar spent all the time that the judgment lasted crying and arguing that everything had been a confusion, that he could never have done to his girl and that he wanted to be judged as such.

Finally he was sentenced to the first sentence of 6 years, a couple of years later in 2015 a case was opened again appealing against the increase of his sentence, which Oscar could not win and ended up being sentenced to a total of 15 years in the jail for the murder of his wife, with whom he had been a short time.

In fact, just 3 months and a few days had passed since the romance between these two public figures began, a deadly decision that ended the life of the model and the career and image of Oscar Pistorius.

Factors like that the pistol that Pistorius carried had bullets that were extended when hitting instead of having used normal bullets could have avoided that Reevas died with those 4 firings.

Although Pistorius being in jail continues to declare that it was an accidental murder and not a premeditated one, he leaves us with only two options on the table:

a) Oscar is telling the truth but the lack of evidence and witnesses in his favor does not allow that conclusion to be reached.

B) Given that only a person with psychological problems or a sociopath could fake so many tears and symptoms of guilt, an attitude like the one that Oscar took throughout his trial is simply difficult to act unless it is something natural.

Oscar had a fondness for the collection of weapons, so it's no surprise that he had bullets of that caliber in his house. They also found steroids in their possessions but apparently, they had no role this sad love story!
