When I was a kid my family kept a badminton net set up in our yard for most of the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. It was the perfect family sport because anyone could play, old, young or even under the right conditions the infirm and crippled could participate. I've seen people play on crutches, in an arm cast, and even in a wheelchair once.

In all of these years, I never knew that badminton was a professional sport, I always just thought that it was a nice outdoor game to keep the kids occupied. But when I saw it listed on Scorum I was curious and began to look for more information. In that search, I found a lot of great photos, videos, and blogs about the game and the tournaments from around the world. Here is a quote from Professional Badminton.

"Professional badminton is otherwise known as Badminton Players Federation. It is situated in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is an independent organization with Mr.Bobby Milroy as its president. It is the union of all professional badminton players around the world today. It has over 200 members containing players from 46 countries."

So here is another great aspect of Scorum Sports, we have to opportunity to learn about sports that we are not very familiar with, and we will be able to gain more in-depth knowledge about the sports that we do know something about. This badminton space was sitting vacant and I just can't stand the empty spots on the platform, I'm doing my part here to fill them up. I'm also inviting members of the professional badminton family to join us here on Skorum and teach of everything there is to know about this wonderful game and sport!

You can find the rules for badminton at World Badminton "Laws of Badminton" page.
