Physical limitations are not a barrier to achievement. That is what was shown by a young badminton player from Cibinong, Bogor Regency, West Java, Muhammad Sayyid Az-Zahiri.

The 15-year-old Pebulu Badis immediately burst into excitement after the Djarum Badminton Scholarship talent team general audition decided to advance to the final round. The final plan will be held in Kudus, Central Java, on September 7-9.

Sayyid is not a normal athlete. He is deaf. Limitations of the sense of hearing and speaking did not make him discouraged to become a famous badminton athlete.

His enthusiasm and fighting power have been impressive when competing in the tournament phase. The talent made the talent search team amazed. Sayyid was chosen by the judges to get the final Super Ticket stage in Kudus.

Sayyid's parents, Lia Fitria also felt proud. Even though his son had limitations, he was able to show his ability to hit the badminton court.

Lia added, her son had been fond of badminton since childhood. In fact, at a young age Sayyid had understood the character of his idol Lee Chong Wei.

At the age of just 15 years, Sayyid already has a lot of experience, both from the local to the national level. In addition to winning the West Java National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN), in 2017, Sayyid also won a national level O2SN title in Medan, North Sumatra. That made Lia sure, that the athletes from PB Sangkuriang Cibinong club could qualify for the final round in Kudus.

The Chairman of the Talent Search Team, Christian Hadinata, also admitted his salute and pride in the struggle of Sayyid who could last until the final round in Kudus. According to him, Sayyid deserves to enter the final round because in addition to having a good posture.

Sayyid is able to show skills that are worthy of being competed at the final level. Regarding the limitations that are unable to hear and speak, Sayyid can overcome the problem calmly.
