Iconic Baseball Team Heads to the Windy City
For the first time, the Savannah Bananas, a team known for their innovative and entertaining approach to baseball, will bring their world-renowned show to Chicago. The team officially announced on Thursday that they will perform at Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, on August 15-16, 2025.

The Chicago Stop on a Nationwide Tour
The visit to Chicago is part of a broader 2025 world tour that will see the Bananas play in 18 Major League Baseball stadiums, including iconic venues like Busch Stadium in St. Louis and Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark. In addition to baseball stadiums, the team will also play in three football stadiums, including those of the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans.
A Unique Experience for Baseball Fans
Chicago fans will have the opportunity to see the Savannah Bananas’ famous “Banana Ball” format, a fast-paced version of the game with a two-hour time limit and quirky, fan-friendly rules. These rules include counting balls caught by fans as outs, adding a layer of interactive fun to the already high-energy spectacle.
For those who can’t make the August games, the Bananas will also play at the Cubs’ spring training facility in Mesa, Arizona, on February 1-2, 2025, and at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, where White Sox fans can catch the team on February 6-8.
Ticket Lottery for Fans
Due to overwhelming demand, tickets for all games, including those in Chicago, will be distributed via a lottery system. Fans eager to witness this one-of-a-kind experience must register on the Savannah Bananas’ website for a chance to purchase tickets.
From Collegiate League to Global Phenomenon
Originally a collegiate summer league team, the Savannah Bananas made headlines in 2022 when they introduced the “Banana Ball” format. Since then, they have sold out venues across the country, gaining a dedicated following for their blend of athleticism and entertainment.
The Bananas’ 2024 tour marked their first foray into MLB stadiums, with sold-out performances at Fenway Park, Nationals Park, and other major venues. The team also fields several spin-off teams, including the Party Animals, Firefighters, Tailgaters, and Visitors, adding variety and excitement to each event.
