It is another year for Philippine Basketball to seek for a good line up of rookie players. By which many competitive applicants making their chance to be able to play on the biggest Philippine Basketball. The selection of prospect players may take a while since there would be some stages of evaluation on every player in terms of capability to handle the position in basketball, playing style and many more. With actions from the committee and organizers, only high-quality players are entitled to be drafted by Philippine Basketball Team.

Every year Philippine basketball has so many applicants that possessed potential growth in basketball. There is no high restriction on this kind of drafting event but as long as players have Filipino blood within them whether he is a mixed foreign or a pure local. The same as other draft series, twelve Philippine teams are entitled to pick their players according to a series of rounds and they do have the option to opted out whenever they think that they have done in picking players.

This year, basketball team Blackwater Elite will have a chance to get the first round first pick after the team ended up with 10th rank in Philippine Cup and 12th in Commissioner's Cup. This opportunity that has given to Blackwater Elite will surely be a reconstruction for the team that they could improve their ranking in the ongoing Governor's Cup or any succeeding Philippine basketball tournaments.

Foreign Filipinos have given a deadline for their submissions by the end of November while local Filipinos have still December 3 to comply with their requirements.

Last year's draft was amazing

Last year's drafting of players was really a successful one. San Miguel Beermen who got Christian Standhardinger as their round 1 - pick 1, and has helped his team San Miguel Beermen with his experience that he gained during his years playing in other countries. Aside from being an excellent player under San Miguel, Christian Standhardinger was even selected to represent the Philippines during a series of international tournaments and manage to achieved great performance throughout his representation.

Standhardinger leads the team alongside with Pringle in Asian Games and snatches the 5th position at the end of Asian Games Basketball tournament. It was an amazing journey for Standhardinger but yet again, he was selected as one of the final 12 of Filipino players to represent Philippines in FIBA Round 2 Asian Qualifiers. I will be expecting more of Standhardinger in their match against Iran that he could perform with his full capacity.

Aside from Standhardinger, Pick 2 Kiefer Ravena has really done well too and also represent the Philippines but a shocking news was released from the officials of Philippine basketball that Ravena is positive of illegal drugs that prohibits him to play in FIBA. There had been a big future for Ravena but it has gone into waste.

On upcoming draft, I'm looking forward that there would be another set of players that have potential growth with the likes of Standhardinger and Ravena.
