The United States earned the silver medal with the loss, claiming their second silver medal in Olympic baseball. The Dominican Republic defeated South Korea 10-6 in the bronze medal game, grabbing their first bronze medal in Olympic baseball history. The tournament was held in Japan, with Tokyo as the host city.
