Tonight, three new players that haven't played last week against Iran will be playing later against Qatar. They are Stanley Pringle from NorthPort Batang Pier, Japeth Aguilar from Barangay Ginebra, and Matthew Wright from Phoenix Fuel Masters. These players will surely do their best to recover from their loss against Iran.
Stanley Pringle will replace Christian Standhardinger as a naturalized player for team Philippines. He is a point guard that can help the team with his quickness and shooting skills. He has a career high of 50 points and the 27 points of that came from the three point line. Pringle is also the number one pick of the last PBA draft 2014. Some of the coaches in the PBA also praise him because he is too hard to defend.
Japeth Aguilar and Matthew Wright are former players of team Philippines in Fiba but they haven't played last week against Iran. That's because they have a one game suspension for involving in the brawl on their last match with Australia. Japeth Aguilar is a power forward and has a career average of 11 points and 6 rebounds per game. While Matthew Wright, a shooting guard, has a career average of 11 points and 4 rebounds per game. These two players will be a big help for team Philippines for their rebounds, quickness and perimeter scoring.
The game will start on 7:30 PM Philippine Time tonight at Smart Araneta Coliseum. They will face the young lineup of Qatar and will try to win to have a 5 win-3 loss record to maintain the 3rd spot in Group F in Fiba World Cup Asian Qualifiers 2019.
