Team Philippines is not showing some signs of giving up against the Giants of Iran tonight 8:30 PM PH time even their 7 footer player Greg Slaughter could not play for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers due to injury. Greg Slaughter was a great factor for team Philippines to face against Hadadi but for sure they have a backup plan for it.
Without Slaughter, the big man of team Philippines (Belga, Almazan, Taulava and Erram) would give all their best to stop 7'2" Hamed Hadadi of Iran. In the absence of Slaughter, coach Guiao decided to add Christian Standhardinger in the lineup to counter Hadadi. Coach Guiao was hoping that they could win against Iran with their new lineup. Guiao just want to have a tight match and give all their best. Al Panlilio SBP president was praying that coach Guiaos final 2 will be able to beat the Iranian team.
In Group F, Iran and Australia has a record of 5-1 lose while Team Philippines in the third place with 3-3 followed by Japan 2-4 and Qatar 2-4
For Group E, Jordan, Lebanon and New Zealand are on top with 5-1 record followed by South Korea 4-2, China 3-3 and Syria 2-4
After the match with Iran, Team Philippines will face Qatar this September 18. Good luck team Philippines, I know they could do it.
