Washington Mystics vs Dallas Wings

Head Coach Fred Williams- “Washington has improved over the last few games. Emma Meesseman has really started to show her post presence inside. They got Ivory Latta back, who they didn’t have last time. She has shown a lot of outside shooting. Defensively they have gotten better.

“For us, we’ve become better competitors. We’re creating more opportunities for shots at victories. We’re a little shorthanded with injuries, but I thought this team has played well the first seven games of the season.”

Assistant Head Coach Ed Baldwin- “When we played Washington the last time, they were without a lot of parts. They were without guards Ivory Latta and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt. They add to their basketball team, so we are going to have to make sure we are focused on that. They make a big difference on their team. For us. We’ve got to score in transition and limit the amount of points in the paint, and I think we’ll be ok.”

Forward Jordan Hooper- “They’ve improved their togetherness and their teamwork, and a lot of other little things since the last time we played them. They’ve gotten a lot better defensively. We’re definitely going to have to sharpen up our offense. Rebounding is something that we have to improve anyway, but they are pretty good at that.”

Center Ruth Hamblin- “I think they have a lot of momentum. Obviously with having Ivory Latta back, they have a lot more shooters and outside game. They attack the rim and get a lot of plays off that too
