It will just a few days more that FIBA Asian Qualifier will officially start on their round 2. Philippine coach Yeng Guiao is almost done with his selection of possible players that will be added to the final 12 for the national team. The process of selection of players has really been hard since the coaching staff needs to see players chemistry and their capacity as a player when in terms of international basketball.
There had been always a challenge and they are looking for some strengthening of the team composition this time since they will be facing Iran in their first game and that Iran has been recognized to have a very powerful basketball team in FIBA Asian Qualifier aside from China, Australia, and New Zealand.
Some problems arise towards some useful players like Stanley Pringle, Greg Slaughter and Christian Standhardinger due to some rules and regulations implemented by FIBA. But the Philippine Team is really confident that they could work all things out and that they would able to secure some of the needed documents and requirements for having those three in the final list.
Both Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle really did well in Asian Games where the Philippines made it to the 5th position and I think that with Greg Slaughter, Philippine Basketball Team will have enough players that could stand up against Iran. I am longing that the official list of players are the ones primary selected so there would be some dream team on the side of Philippine Team.
Philippine Team really needs to qualify and be on the top 3 ranking to be able to secure and be included in the FIBA Basketball World Cup. In the qualifier rounds, they will be facing Iran, Qatar, and Kazakhstan.
