Have you known Dave Ildefonso? Well, he is just the one who led the team, Batang Gilas that scored 18 points in the game while the other Gilas twin towers, AJ Edu and Kai Sotto had their own down low against the Chinese defenders.
AJ Edu is a 6-foot-10 that scored with 13 pts, 14 rebs, and five blocks while Kai Sotto scored 11 pts, 10 rebs, and four blocks as they had finished the 1st round with a 3-0.
After the second quarter, the Philippines started to outscored China in 23-12 that led them 54-39 during the third period.
Then was proclaimed the winner after beating China with a strong lead. However, the Philippines earlier had their victories over Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates that take them to have an automatic ticket to the quarterfinals.
