Who will prevail at the Scottish Open in 2019 at The Renaissance Club? The players have a total purse of €6,215,965 to play for. That's not €6,216,000 now, but €6,215,965 to be exact! 😎😎

Well, that is what I hope to tell you below. I am going to try pick at least one golfer who finishes in the top 8 at this weeks Scottish Open. For those of you who follow my predictions, you will know that I like a bit of value in a golf bet, so I have once again opted for some higher odds players. Obviously with these type of players, there is a quite a good chance that they may not make the cut, however golf often throws up one or two high odds players in and around the winners circle. My job is to try and pick one of these guys and make a few Benjamins off the back of it. I managed to do just this with last weeks picks where Rafa Cabrera Bello came in joint 4th for me and gave me a decent pay out at odds of 28/1.

Scottish Open Predictions

So let's get straight to the picks then, where the odds vary from 40/1 right up to 150/1. Something you will also notice about my picks is that I went with 3 Scottish golfers, as I have a funny feeling a homegrown hero is going to win their home championship this time out.

Russell Knox €5 E/W @40/1

Russell finished on -5 at the Irish Open last week in Lahinch and to be honest he could have scored lower, as he got some bad breaks along the way, but he made the cut and indeed made the cut on his previous 4 outings and has looked cool and composed. I really liked what I saw of Russell as he triumphed at last year's Irish Open. I would not be surprised to see the spirited Scotsman bang in contention on Sunday evening.

Robert MacIntyre €3.5 E/W @66/1

My second pick is another plucky Scotsman. I'm not sure what it is, but I can see a Scotsman going very close this week and having watched a good bit of Robert in recent weeks, I believe he is within touching distance of his first European tour win and what better place for him to do it than in his own backyard.

66/1 offers decent value in my opinion and with two 2nd place finishes in his last 4 starts, Robert is confident and that is so important in the world of golf - a confident golfer tends to score well.

Richie Ramsay €1 E/W @125/1

Yep, another Scotsman! The odds are creeping up here and Richie could as easily miss the cut as make it, but it's worth a small bet in my opinion. Yes, he is up against some top players like McIlroy, Kuchar and Fowler, but Ramsay has a great record at Scottish Opens and he might well dust of the cobwebs of 3 cuts in a row, and prevail here and let's face it 125/1 is pretty damn juicy!

Mattias Schwab €1.50 E/W @150/1

One last outsider for you is Austrian Mattias Schwab. The 24 year old is still cutting his teeth and like Ramsay, he has missed some recent cuts, but recent 9th and 3rd place finishes tell me that Mattias has the potential to threaten. Yes, it's a punt at 150/1, but if he prevails I'll be laughing all the way to the bank!

Thanks a million for taking the time to stop by.

Peace Out.
