A guide to winning big on the Scorum Betting Platform.
Each event in the world of sports comes with some probability, and in betting, this probability is expressed through odds. As with most European bookmakers and betting exchanges, ScorumBet uses the decimal odds system. If you see 1.6 odds, then the probability of this event is equal to 62.5% (100% divide by 1.6). Each event has 2 opposite probabilities, and together they always give 100%.
For example, football. The opposite outcome for a Team 1 win is a Draw or Team 2 win. If you estimate the probability of a Team 1 win as 62.5% (odds of 1.6), then 37.5% is left for a “Draw or Team 2 win” (or odds of ~ 2.67). Side note — Team 1 is always the first Team listed in a table on ScorumBet.
Using odds and probabilities, players interact on ScorumBet. They express their opinion about matches with the help of numbers and are looking for people who are willing to wager on the opposite outcome.
For convenience, the outcomes of matches are abbreviations. Across the line you can see:
- “1” - Team 1 will win
- “X” - the match will end in a Draw
- “2” - Team 2 will win
- "1X" - Team 1 will win or the match will end in a Draw
- "12" - Team 1 or 2 will win (the match will not end in a Draw)
- "X2" - Team 2 will win or the match will end in a Draw
Pairs of opposite outcomes: 1 - X2; X - 12; 2 - 1X.
How to place a bet
The easiest option is to accept someone else's offer. Look for the match you are interested in, choose the desired event, choose the highest odds, click on it, enter the stake of the bet and click Place Bet.
If other players have not yet created interesting proposals for the selected event, then you can create your own. Choose the desired bet option, enter the odds and the stake of the bet. Click Place Bet and wait for your opponent. After the bet is confirmed, the opposite of your offer will appear in the odds table.
The table of odds is formed from the proposals that wait for opponents. The best offers (with the highest odds) are always at the top. Under each odds in the table is written the amount of SCR open to be staked on that event at those odds. If the stake of your bet is large, an unmatched bet will be created on the remaining amount of staked SCR.
An unmatched bet is an offer that has not yet found an opponent, and a matched bet — already did. Unmatched bets can be canceled or edited while matched bets cannot. At the start of the match, all unmatched bets are canceled (the stake of all these bets is returned to bettors), and the line is formed anew for staking live throughout the match.
A simple example: you want to put 100 SCR under odds of 1.5 on Team 1 win (‘1’ on the line). To do this, there must be player(s) willing stake on the counter offer - a bet on a draw or a victory of guests (X2 on the line) with 50 SCR at odds of 3.0. Accordingly, if you create your own bet, then on the table you will find not your bet, but the counter one - the odds 3.0 and 50 SCR below it on X2.
You can monitor the status of your bets through the ‘My Bets’ tab. After the end of the match, you will immediately see the match results, but the payout will occur within an hour - when the data from the statistics provider is checked.
A separate note for bettors who are used to trading on the stock exchange rates: we do not have 'Lay' bets. We made the interface as similar to the usual bookmaker as possible, but left the ability to independently enter odds and form a line. You just need to enter the desired odds and the bet amount and the system will do the rest.
In the starting version there are 29 football leagues and 112 betting options for each match. An extended line with totals, handicaps and correct scores is on the match page.
Do not forget that all bookmakers take a commission for their services. On ScorumBet, the commission is 0%, which means that the biggest odds will be here. Good luck!
