Greetings! I am using BestFightOdds which gathers bets and props from numerous sportsbooks around the web. I have found some juicy odds and plays for tonight's card, so best of luck to all who follow!
If you are a gambler, UFC 229 is a great card to start with as there aren't numerous MASSIVE favorites and the odds on some outcomes are just too good to pass up.
Vicente Luque (-825) to win by Submission (+140) or to win in Round 2 (+425) or in Round 3 (+950)
These odds sounds absolutely ridiculous to me. I myself am not too into hedging as I just make straight bets on my own instinct from watching the sport, but if you are a betting (wo)man, you have to hedge these plays.
Luque is not a takedown artist but he does like to wear down the opponent with big strikes on the feet and use his grappling to finish the job. His opponent is young and may last into the later rounds, but Luque is a finisher and he excels as the fight progresses. I have faith in a submission although TKO wouldn't be out of the ordinary. I'd recommend any of these bets to start with, some great money can surely be made.
Dominick Reyes (-225) to win by TKO or KO (-124), Under 1.5 Rounds (-157)
I like Reyes, and I like him to finish OSP in the early goings. We've seen OSP get caught sloppily throwing punches in the past, and although a prime OSP was somewhat durable and formidable, he has become an absolute shell of himself.
With a serious knockout loss to Manuwa, getting choked out standing by Ilir Latifi and being knocked down early in his bout against Tyson Pedro all in the first round of those fights, I like the strong and durable blue chip prospect Reyes to tag him with big shots and put him away.
Aspen Ladd (-155) to win by TKO or KO (+425)
I think the odds on Ladd are good, and for her to win by TKO are very, very good! This result may be me overthinking a bit, but I enjoy being overzealous at times because it works! Aspen has 5 of 6 wins by finish and the only girl who lasted to decision with her was Sijara Eubanks, a girl actually fighting Shevchenko for the title!
I like Aspen to wash the older Tonya who is showing her age and really only has grappling in her back pocket. The stand up mismatch is heavy and Aspen can very well wear Tonya out on the feet and finish her at some point. I wouldn't put too much favor into the TKO bet, but Aspen is a solid one for sure.. she's an undefeated young girl with something to prove!
Conor McGregor (+165) to win by TKO or KO (+185)
I'd recommend hedging this with Khabib props including an astounding (+295) for a submission win and (+365) for a TKO win.
This fight will not make it to decision, Conor presses the action too heartily for anyone to not engage in a gunfight.
Nate Diaz at 170 pounds is an anomaly for one of the greatest featherweights and lightweights of all time, just know that Conor does have true one punch knockout power and Khabib does possess immeasurable grappling skill once he attains top control.
Both men will impose their will, and I feel Conor will do a better job at doing so based on skill and composure.
Good luck to those who follow! I have some solid boxing plays today so let's see how today goes!
