I have to report something strange today. For the first time since I'm running the model I have got a total disaster - a 0% hit rate!

My prediction model has failed to predict even one result right for the League One games that were played on Saturday, Aug 25. I can only hope that it will go the other way now and let me see something else I have not seen so far - a 100% hit rate :-)

Here's the performance of the Reverend prediction model for the:

  1. EFL Midweek Action (Aug 21, 2018)
  2. EFL Weekend Action (Aug 24,  2018)
  3. National League Picks (Aug 27, 2018)
The Week 4 Performance

As you can see, the model is doing well in the three out of five leagues. If it weren't for that freak occurrence during the last game week of the League One, I would be writing a different report.

The League one is a mystery for my model. Not only it had 0% hit rate for the last game week, the game week before it it did just 3/12. In total, it predicted correctly just 3/24 games. A truly shameful performance.

Now, let's look at the model's performance since the start of the season:

That League One thing...

The League One is killing me. Thanks to the model's failure there, we are 19.5 units under. It will take some serious luck to dig ourselves out of that hole.

I'll be back with the EFL Weekend Action (Aug 31, 2018) this Friday.

Until then, thank you for reading and good luck!
