This weekend we have 58 games in all the leagues for which the model is making the picks. The Premier League - Matchday 6, the Championship, League One, and League Two - Matchday 9, and the National League - Matchday 12.

Before we get down to business, here are the preliminary results for the EFL Midweek Action (Sep 18, 2018) : 13 games | 7W6L | +1.032 units | +7.94% ROI. You can see the complete model's performance here.

Premier League

The only surprising thing here is the draw between Brighton and Tottenham and given the recent performance by the away side, this outcome is not that unrealistic. I wouldn't go all the way, though, but Brighton +0.75 @1.909 doesn't look bad.

I also like these two picks (in the AH version):

  1. Fulham -0.25 @2.139
  2. Burnley +0 @2.12

Championship

Here we have something unusual, the model is favoring just the home sides. Out of the picks it made, I'd go with these (AH versions, of course):

  1. Wigan -0.25 @1.892
  2. Stoke -0.5 @2.02
  3. QPR +0 @1.826

League One

I'm not yet sure what to think of the model's picks for the League One. So far, it performed poorly here, that is, until the last game week when it made a profit. If I have to place some bets here, I'd go with:

  1. Accrington v AFC Wimbledon - Draw @3.24
  2. Charlton Athletic @1.90

League Two

Some audacious picks here on the three away teams (Crawley, Newport County, and Swindon) and one home (Cambridge). The most surprising to me is the Swindon to win against Yeovil, the side that trashed Newport County 6 - 0 the last matchday.

My picks here are:

  1. Crawley Town +0.5 @1.934
  2. Exeter City @1.869

National League

Some fine picks here, but I'd go a different way about it:

  1. Wrexham +0.25 @2.04
  2. Harrogate +0 @1.892
  3. Boreham Wood +0.5 @1.99

And there you have it folks. Let's hope the model continues with its recent good form. Good luck!
