The last weekend has been a disaster for me when it come to the English Premier League. Not only did I lose money, I also lost the first round of the big, season long competition between yours truly and @betman. Time to redeem myself and collect the first win of the season :-)

Let's get to it:

Aston Villa vs Everton

A hard one to call. After impressing us all in the opening match against Tottenham, Aston Villa went to lose at home after gifting away two goals to Bournemouth. It took them just 12 minutes to be down 2-0.

On the other hand, Everton finally managed to score and win against Watford, but I'm still doubting their scoring ability. Here, they are playing against the side that conceded 5 goals in 2 games and I think this is their opportunity.

My Bet: Everton -0.25 @1.970

Norwich vs Chelsea

Norwich is on fire. Teemu Pukki just keep scoring and I expect them to do the same this Saturday. Chelsea is just the famous name at this point and Lampard will have to find some more excuses after this game why his players can play for about 20 minutes before running out of gas.

I expect a strong start from Chelsea, but if the first two games are any indication, they'll play just the first half. If Norwich manage to resist, this game is theirs.

My Bet: Norwich +0.25 @2.490

Brighton vs Southampton

The last gameweek I've been burned by Brighton and impressed by Southampton. I think this is the game where the visitors will collect the first points of the season.

My Bet: Southampton +0 @2.220

Manchester Utd vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace is in a big trouble this season and while they conceded just one goal in the two games that they've played, in this match I can see them getting 2 or more while scoring none.

My Bet: Manchester Utd -1.5 @2.110

Sheffield Utd vs Leicester

The home team had four points 1W1D while the visitors have just two 2D. The Blades showed that they can play in the EPL in this one I just don't see them doing well. Leicester is hungry.

My Bet: Leicester -0.25 @1.952

Watford vs West Ham

I've got no idea why Watford are the favorites here @2.100. Both sides suck at the moment and if I am to bet on a sucky side I'll pick the one with the better odds.

My Bet: West Ham +0 @2.640

Liverpool vs Arsenal

Too short odds on the home side for my liking here. Short odds on the overs, too. Yet, I, with the rest of the world, will go for the overs expecting a traditional goal fest.

My Bet: Over 3.5 @2.190

Bournemouth vs Manchester City

Talking about short odds... Man City did disappoint me against Spurs and I'm a bit wary of backing them to cover the -2 handicap. Perhaps, they'll go out guns blazing and repeat the visit to London (against West Ham) or they'll fuck it up and allow a rather unimpressive Bournemouth to get something out of this game.

My Bet: Under 3.5 @1.943

Wolves vs Burnley

Two solid side here, and even though I'd back the home side with no hesitation if it wasn't for the fact that they are playing this game three days after their travel to Torino. Will they have enough time to recover for this one is the question.

Also, taking a bet this far in advance is not the best thing to do since we can see some serious injuries that will decimate the home team in Italy.

My Bet: Under 2 @2.210

Tottenham vs Newcastle

This one is rather tricky. Why? We are talking Spurs here. When you don't expect them to do well, they overachieve. When you expect them to do a routine job, they fail miserably.

My Bet: Over 3 @1.943

That's my choice for this weekend. Your move @betman. Good luck all!
