A classic match yesterday where the big favorite turned out to be the better team but failed to cover the closing line handicap because they didn't push it knowing they have an upcoming more important match. Week 16 of the Regular Season continues today.

Eupen vs Standard

Eupen has been playing better as of late taking 10 on 15 in their last 5 matches only losing late in the match against Charleroi in their last match. Standard took 0 on 6 and always has a difficult time away against Eupen where they haven't won since 2010-2011. For the home team, this is the match of the year and the stadion will be sold out. By no means do I expect and easy away victory for the favorite. I took a small pre-game position on Eupen +0.75 @ 1.833 and will see where it goes live. Eupen is able to keep a tight defense and scoring the first goal for Standard will be the hardest.

Mechelen vs Zulte-Waregem

Mechelen has been performing above expectations this season and is inside of the top 6. Zulte-Waregem their first half of the season was with a lot of ups and downs. Especially in away matches, they haven't always been all that convincing and often it's a matter of form-of-the-day. Mechelen took an away win against Standard despite being without important players Kaya and Storm who will be back tonight. I can't help but feel Mechelen has been overperforming and a regression to the mean is imminent. One of the stats that stand out is their Home over record going 6W-0.5L-0.5P against the Asian closing total. (Zulte-Waregem is 2W4L-1P). Important offensive Zulte-Waregem Player Berahino is still injured. The only bet I took pre-game is KV Mechelen Corners -0.5 @ 1.714. I do expect the home team to move forward and Zulte-Waregem only managed to beat this handicap once in 7 away matches. My eye live will be on Zulte-Waregem +0.5 if there are signs that they are up for it and the 1st Half over 1. Mechelen tends to go for it from the start and has and has more goals in their first halves at home.

Waasland vs Cercle Brugge

This is a match between the 2 bottom sides in the league who both managed to take a win in their last game. Cercle has been playing better under their new coach while Waasland clearly is not good enough against good teams. Often matches like this result in very nervous 1st halves as the fear to lose wins out to the will to win. The most important fact for me is that Dierickx who has been very valuable for the Waasland offense is injured for this match. I could not resist taking a small bet on Cercle Brugge +0.25 @ 1.90 pre-game and will see where it all goes live. Both teams in their last 12 matches combined never had a case where they went below 9 corners with an average of 12.4. I took some pre-game Over 10 corners @ 1.99 and will be looking to take more live if the match picture looks favorable.

Moeskroen vs Genk

Racing Genk has got a new coach and I wouldn't be surprised to see a 'coach change shock effect'. They do have quality in the team but Mazzu never really seemed confident coaching a top team being way too humble and having a game somewhere in between the offensive DNA of Genk and the Ultra defensive style he played with Charleroi. Moeskroen had something of a fall back after overperforming early on and now seems to be just an ok mid-table team. They are one of the best home teams in the league going 5W-1L-1P against the Asian handicap. Both scenarios of Genk benefitting from a shock effect or a slow build-up for them getting better again are possible. I'm not willing to take the gamble at this point and will just stay away pre-game hoping the match itself will paint a much better picture. Genk also didn't have the most ideal preparation with many internationals having been away. No Pre-Game Bets
