Belgian Jupiler League Week 16 Saturday Previews

These posts contain previews on matches from the Belgian League with some on my personal bets, live-betting angles, Team Form, Injuries and Team News.

Friday was very exciting because the 0% fee scorum betting exchange was released. (betscorum.com) I have been looking forward to it for a while and what it brings so far is exactly what I had hoped for. This is still a long road ahead and liquidity is definitely an issue now. I am working on seeing how I can help out in this regard.

Standard vs Eupen

Standard did not play their best match away against Kortrijk last round but managed to get a 0-2 win. This team has shown it's potential once so far this season at home against Club Brugge but failed to confirm afterward. Eupen, after having a bit of a revival lost their last 2 matches and played quite bad against Stvv losing 1-4 at home last round. Standard has some defensive worries with Cavanda, & Luyindama out. I do see Standard winning without keeping a clean sheet this match. I will wait to place any bets live in this one with an eye on the over and the favorite.

Oostende vs Kortrijk

Kortrijk as a surprise fired their Coach De Boeck and re-assigned Yves Vanderhaege during the international break. I don't really see this as a coach change shock effect match because Kortrijk with Glen De Boeck as coach did not actually play that bad. I do like the 1st half Under 1 line because both teams tend to have most their goals in the 2nd half and there is no reason for this to be wide open from the start. Oostende have been a rather unreliable team at times playing ok and other times playing really bad. I have a small pre-game bet on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.25 but I won't hesitate to opt out if the match picture shows the opposite during the 1st half.

Waasland vs Moeskroen

Waasland Beveren also has a new coach in former striker Adnan Čustović. They have been one of the better teams covering their Asian handicaps without taking many points. (often matches ended in a draw). Overall the quality of the team is the main issue and I don't really count on a coach change shock effect. The line seems to be set properly with Moeskroen who have been in better form with only 1 loss out of their last 5 matches but still are very much in the danger zone. This might turn into one of those matches where the fear to lose is bigger than the will to win for both teams. Usually, this brings about sloppy poor quality play with few goals. New coached from teams a the bottom also often focus on defense first. I also took a small bet on the 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.05 in this match and again won't hesitate to hedge out if needed. With the coach change it's always a bit guessing when it comes down to expected play style.

Racing Genk vs Cercle Brugge

It's been a while since Racing Genk showed their killer form of early in the season and their last match against Moeskroen was quite poor. I'm not really looking to back them at a -2 line pre-game today. Cercle has been a good home team, but have worse performances away. Genk has Trossard back and will pretty much be able to play their full A-Squad. This is one of those matches I'm just going to stay away from pre-game.
