Belgian Jupiler League Week 26 Saturday Previews

Poor start of the weekend yesterday and I lost around 1 unit and I feel it was because of a lacking focus and sharpness with all this drama going on lately and I'm not liking it. As usually 4 matches on Saturday, none of them are really that interesting and I will take a low profile approach and clear my head in the meantime.

Kortrijk vs Charleroi

Kortrijk played a classic poor quality play-off 2 match with nothing to play for against Eupen last week. They did end up winning with a 0-1 score after a goal that came from nowhere. Both them and Charleroi in a way are still in the chase for a playoff 1 Spot with Charleroi in 8th place being 3 points behind on the 6th place and Kortrijk in 9th place with 4 points behind on 6th place with 5 matches left to go. The main question for this match is how much both teams still believe they can make it and will go for it. looking at the Schedules, Kortrijk has now got 3 matches they can potentially win on the program. (Charleroi / Waasland / Cercle Brugge). Charleroi has a far more difficult schedule playing Kortrijk, Stvv and Genk). Charleroi dominated the match last week but failed to create a lot of actual chances against a good Oostende defense. I am staying away from this one pre-game, but the in-game match picture should hopefully clear out the intentions of both these teams. Also, the pitch in Kortrijk was not in very good shape the last match. No Pre-Game Bets

Oostende vs Eupen

Oostende being 7 points ahead and one match extra to play should be safe. If anything this should allow them to play stress-free. Their defense has been quite solid and coach Verheyen always puts high importance on these kinds of matches against direct opponents. Eupen seems to be more in play-off 2 mode already and lost 3 matches in a row. I'm expecting more focus from the home team today and I took a very small initial bet on Oostende -0.25 @ 1.97. I do need confirmation live in order to get in some more though. Live betting the team that falls behind is also an option for this match. For as for as the total goes, Oostende did show decent defense and they will be focussed. The O/U 2.5 line seems to be set fair.

Zulte-Waregem vs Sint-Truiden

I totally got the estimation of Zulte-Waregem playing an overish last week against Anderlecht. That one ended in a scoreless 0-0 draw. Sint-Truiden is in full battle for Play-off 1 and still in the winning flow. It is noticeable that they miss Bezus and De Norre though. in these situations I prefer to wait for a loss before starting to oppose a team. Sint-Truiden won their last 3 matches all against bad/mediocre teams (Waasland / Eupen / Cercle ). I see far more potential in Zulte-Waregem even though they are in 12th place. This one is not that interesting for pre-game bets with the over line being set quite high and the home team being the favorite against a team who are bound to have a fallback at some point but have kept on winning. Waasland vs AA Gent

Waasland are still fighting to stay in the league being 5 points clear of the last place and AA Gent are fighting to get into play-off 1 having an equal amount of points as Anderlecht. The Asian lines and odds give not much to work with being set at -1 @ 2.07 for the visitors. Ampomah is injured for Waasland which highly decreases their offensive capabilities. This is fully reflected in the home team total line though. The scenario I can work with is for Waasland to somehow take the lead in this match as I don't see them holding that. I do expect the visitors to take the initiative while Waasland lures on the counter. None of the available betting options interest me one bit, but it could turn out in an interesting match for Live bets. No Pre-Game Bets
