Belgian Jupiler League Week 29 Previews (Play-off 1 Matches)

These are previews from the Belgian Jupiler League with all the latest on team news, player form, injuries, my personal betting angles, ...

All matches will be played at the same time on Sunday at 18:00 Belgian Time. There are still 4 teams in the fight for the final Play-off 1 spots. I will cover those matches today and make my previews on the other matches tomorrow.

Cercle Brugge vs Standard

Cercle Brugge is in a bad streak taking 2 on 15 but both points came from their home matches. Last week they took a decent start against Kortrijk but fell back after Hazard got injured and he will be out in this match along with defender Lambot. Standard has been a team with ups and downs, right now there is said to be a flu virus going along in the team. Ochoa was ill during the week, Carcela has not trained for 2 days and Fai also stayed in. So not the best preparation for them. Standard is in the pole position for a playoff 1 spot currently in 4th place being 3 points clear of AA Gent. Their schedule is not the hardest and they play the last match at home against Waasland Beveren. I am waiting this match out since the pitch in Brugge is still very bad and the flu issues in the Standard team. If Cercle somehow manages to take the lead in this match I will closely be looking for Standard to make a comeback. The line-up will be last minute since many of the key players are not 100% and might start on the bench. No Pre-Game Bets

AA Gent vs Oostende

AA Gent is the last of the bunch in the playoff 1 race but has their faith in their own hands since they will play Stvv in the last match of the season. They have been playing well as of late taking 2 important wins in a row against solid opponents (Standard & Zulte-Waregem). Their opponents Oostende has been really poor and their level of play pretty much all season long has been below the expectations. These teams played the semi-final in the cup where Oostende played by far their best 1st half of the season away in AA Gent leading deserved 0-2. These things are always important to remember and it would not be the first time to see some kind of repeat. On the other hand, Oostende is the team that just seems to be unable to keep a lead. Canesin was injured and is uncertain to play while Faes is suspended. Final line-ups and the start of the match will be key before getting involved in this one for me. No Pre-Game Bets

Moeskroen vs Sint-Truiden

Sint-Truiden played against their style very defensively last week away against Club Brugge and could not hold the press in the 2nd half losing that match with 1-0. Moeskroen has been a highly underrated team on the betting markets and were unlucky not to take the win last week away against Standard. They continue to show excellent quality and right now are simply not a smart choice to oppose even though it is tempting to get Sint-Truiden as the underdog. Stvv will miss their central defender Texeira because of a suspension and their coach stated they will play for the full win. I took a small initial pre-game bet on the Over 2.5 @ 1.87 but will need some good confirmation live to get in more.

Anderlecht vs Kortrijk

Anderlecht has been rather lucky the last couple weeks and they are high on my list of teams to oppose. Looking at all factors combined, their overall player quality is just below what it should be and this is one of their worst seasons in a long time. Kortrijk has nothing left to play for, but I do expect them to go for it. One of the things about this Anderlecht is that opponents no longer fear them and believe they can actually win. Kortrijk has also been in a winning flow taking 4 wins from their last 5 matches. The home team also rarely is able to keep clean sheets. I spit my stakes between KV Kortrijk +1 @ 1.87 | KV Kortrijk Team Total Over 1 @ 2.133 | Kortrijk 1st Half +0.25 @ 2.11 all taken with my betting broker Sportmarket Pro. I also took a bit extra in BTC on Kortrijk +1 @ 1.847 at Nitrogensports and also tracked this one on Blitzpredict. Both teams have been rather high on corners lately and I might end up taking some on that if the line and odds are good enough.
