I took a semi day off yesterday and kept a very low profile betting wise on the Europa League Qualif matches. I will be doing all the needed work on the Belgian League this afternoon and might have another BTC Bet later today. We are in week 5 already which will only have 6 matches as 2 of them are postponed to give the teams playing Europa League playoff matches a better chance to qualify. Tonight there is already a highly anticipated match between Racing Genk and Anderlecht.
Racing Genk vs Anderlecht
We are getting at a point in the season where teams are more known which makes it harder to find an edge on information about teams as it's much more widespread and everyone including the bookies are in the clear of what can be expected. This means edges will likely become harder to find as lines get better adjusted to the current situation. Racing Genk has a good team but can't be compared to what they used to be last season. Against poor teams (Waasland-Beveren last week) they can get away with it but I do expect them to have problems in the Champions League. Their main issue right now is lack of creativity in the midfield. Anderlecht can be summed up as playing great 1st halves but lack of experience and overall physical condition made them drop back in the 2nd half. Add the fact that they lack a scoring striker and play with quite a lot of risk in the back they are now left with 2 points on 12. They do have a lot of quality though and I do expect them to get in a winning streak once they start winning and finishing their chances. For now, I'm sticking to the 1st half angle and took a medium bet on Anderlecht 1st Half +0.25 @ 1.890 taken on Sportmarket Pro. There are a lot of injuries for Anderlecht but none of them are important players. Goalkeeper Vukovic being injured for Genk is a Big blow for them and I do expect Anderlecht who will again play with Thelin instead of Gerkens to be able to score. There has been an under trend in the League when it comes down to corners and both teams are 6W-0L-2P on the Under 9 line so far which also had me take a small bet on Under 9 Corners @ 2.46. I'll be keeping an eye out for possible live bets but need to see the final line-ups and early match picture first to get involved more.
