Alcune partite sembrano comunque molto interessanti, come ad esempio Dinamo Zagabria contro Benfica, un'ottima cavalcata finora da parte dei croati in questa competizione, potrebbero mettere in seria difficoltà i portoghesi. Anche Inter, Arsenal e Villareal partono con il vantaggio di giocare la prima partita fuori casa, un ottimo vantaggio che potrebbe permettere loro di poter avere a disposizione un doppio risultato favorevole in vista del ritorno.
La trasferta più insidiosa potrebbe essere quella che tocca gli spagnoli, a San Pietroburgo potrebbero incontrare sorprese, quello russo non è un campo facile.
In casa le difficoltà potrebbero essere incontrate da Napoli e Chelsea contro rispettivamente Salisburgo e Dinamo Kiev, due squadre abituate a dare tutto in campo Europeo e potrebbero dare del filo da torcere a due squadre che hanno un organico di alto livello.
