With today's post, I try to get back on track, after my last two predictions were wrong.
In fact, after underestimating the defensive qualities of Napoli, I did the same with AS Roma. The Giallorossi, in the last Europa League round, have ruled with a peremptory 4-0 to the Turks of the Basaksehir. As a fan, I was very happy for this. As a bettor, not so much.
Also in this case, therefore, no BTTS...and bet lost.
But now let's move on to today's prediction, which concerns the Serie A saturday night match, one of the most important derbies in Italy. I'm talking about
AC MILAN vs FC INTER
The two Milan city teams are not in a particularly golden era. They are far from dominating the Serie A League and from laying down the law in the European Cups, as happened for both a few years ago.
Suffice it to say that in 2003 this match had been the Uefa Champions League semi-final, with Milan that then won the final against Juventus.
Now, instead, Milan is out of international competitions for financial issues and Inter has managed to return to the Champions League, but it will probably play a supporting role and not a protagonist one.
That said, let's get to the current situation. Both clubs have a new coach and are starting with a new project. Certainly, it's much more structured and ambitious that of Antonio Conte's Inter, surely thanks to the class of the coach, but also to a market with great names like Lukaku, Godin, Barella, Sanchez and Sensi, who amazed everyone. The current leadership in the Serie A league bodes well for the fans, but the road is long and there is still much to do.
AC Milan restarted with Marco Giampaolo after that Rino Gattuso (who, in my opinion, did a great job) failed to hit the fourth-place target.
The new coach did very well for Samp and now he has to prove that he is ready for a big club like AC Milan. The start was not the easiest and in fact, most likely, this game will decide whether his adventure will take a positive or negative turn.
But now let's come to the prediction.
There has been much talk of the two teams' defensive solidity, one of the best qualities shown by both. But we must not forget that the two teams have explosive forwards and that the new rules favor giving of penalty kicks. And then the most unpredictable things can always happen in the derbies...
So, even if risky, I insist on BTTS for this game too.
Mine is also a hope, because I love fun matches and so I wish that the desire to win takes over the fear of losing.
