I haven't written a real betting tip article on Scorum for a quiet a while as I am not a better myself and the last ones I wrote were just some underdog tips that all went south! I have remarked on tournament winners with some success. But I don't think you can be a real sports writer - atleast when it comes to match previews and analysis without putting your 'money where your mouth is' figuratively speaking or in this case 'your SP where your mouth is'. So here goes nothing for Friday betting at the ATP Shenzhen Open which I have been following closely due to Britain having two players still in contention for the title.

Andy Murray vs Fernando Verdasco

Last time these two players met was in the US Open in August. Murray was still trying to (and is still trying to now) find his feet after coming back from a hip injury. His exit to Verdasco in four sets was not really a shock or to be considered an upset, he was clearly suffering in the heat and still lacking match practice, every big champion goes through ups and downs when returning from injury. Murray was 2.10 to win yesterday against Goffin - which I predicted here. I have also backed fellow Brit Norrie to win today, more about him shortly.

His win over Goffin is his first real big victory since returning, ok Goffin is not the toughest of opponents but he is Number 11th in the world and is enjoying a solid year of tennis. He's also beaten the likes of Del Potro (World No. 4), Alexander Zverev (World No. 5), Kevin Anderson (World No. 9) this year and Roger Federer (World No.1) in the ATP Finals at the end of last year. Murray played exactly how I described he needed to in order to beat Goffin. He hit the ball deep and aggressive plus his first serve was firing well.

Coming up against Verdasco will give him the perfect opportunity for revenge and he will be keen to finish him off in two sets this time to prove to himself he is well and truly on the rise after injury.

Verdasco is a solid baseline player but rarely makes a foray to the net. He has a one dimensional game and will come unstuck against Murray, if Murray plays to a similar standard to how he did against Goffin which I believe he will.

I am going for Andy Murray at a -1.5 set handicap at 2.28.

Cameron Norrie vs Yoshihito Nishioka

I covered Norrie in my previous article for anyone wanting to read about his performances over the past year or two. He is a promising young talent, still on the rise and for me this is a concrete bet. He is a far better player than Yoshihito Nishioka, who of course shouldn't be underestimated after defeating Denis Shapovalov in the previous round but his record is still only 5 wins and 10 losses this year and being 5ft 7 inches he's just too small to hold serve easily which put's way too much pressure on his return game to win matches.

Norrie isn't exactly the tallest tennis player either standing at 6ft 2 inches but he has a better service game than Nishioka, he fired 14 aces against Coric in two sets - that's huge. If he fires just half of that number against Nishioka he's likely to win the match never-mind if we also factor in all the other parts of his game that he looked so impressive with against Coric. Norrie has taken down a number of top 20 players this year so Nishioka shouldn't prove too much of a problem. Norrie will take the confidence gained from recording his biggest win to date against Coric into his match against Nishioka and should prove too much for the World Number 171. There's almost 100 ranking places between these two, Norrie should clearly show his supremacy here.

I am going for a Cameron Norrie to win at 1.80.
