Are you ready?
Betscorum.com is back and we are on the brink of a massive weekend in the English Premier League. I had my butt handed to me on Thursday, losing over 200 SCR, but I'm on the brink of finalizing a plan for future betting and I'm testing it out this weekend on my predictions for the EPL.
Come along and win some SCR with me this weekend. Here are my picks and my level of confidence in each pick (1-5, 5 being the most confidence and 1 being the least). The amount of each bet will be based on my confidence in that pick.
Manchester City vs. Everton
City hosts Everton after getting rocked by Chelsea last weekend. They will be looking to bounce back in EPL play with a win against a much weaker Everton side. With only one loss in EPL play and eight of their last nine matches going over 2.5 goals, I'm taking Manchester City to win and the game to over 2.5 goals.
Bets:
- Manchester City to win. Confidence: 5
- Over 2.5 goals. Confidence: 2
Tottenham vs. Burnley
Tottenham vs. Burnley is shaping up to be a low-scoring match in which Tottenham should have the upper-hand. I am confident that Tottenham will pull out the victory, but not confident in either the over or under in this match.
Bets:
- Tottenham to win. Confidence: 3
Huddersfield vs. Newcastle
After playing Arsenal tough on the road, many believe Huddersfield will continue to play well this week when they host Newcastle. I don't buy it. Newcastle has earned 10 points in their last 6 matches which equals the total number of points Huddersfield has earned all season. I like Newcastle in another game that could easily go over or under, so I'll once again stay away from the over/under bet.
Bets:
- Newcastle to win on the road. Confidence: 2
Crystal Palace vs. Leicester
In a draw against Manchester United on the road, Crystal Palace showed their ability to slow down better teams and come away with a point. Leicester has played their opponents to a draw in regular time in 4 of their last 6, and I think that's what will happen once again here. I'm not overly confident, but I could see a 1-1 or 0-0 result as a possibility and I'm willing to bet on it.
Bets:
- I'm taking the draw. Confidence: 1
- Under 2.5 goals. Confidence: 1
Watford vs. Cardiff City
Watford, after losing back-to-back home games against Liverpool and Manchester City, is now battle-tested and ready to take on a decent yet vulnerable Cardiff City side. Cardiff comes into the match with a -15 goal differential. Watford is fresh off a tough draw on the road against Everton, and I believe they take all three points in this match.
Bets:
- Watford to win at home. Confidence: 1
- Under 2.5 goals. Confidence: 1
Wolves vs. Bournemouth
Sometimes you just have to go with your gut, and my gut tells me that Bournemouth, if Callum Wilson does return and it does appear that he will, will come up with a timely road win against the Wolves. Despite victories over Newcastle and Chelsea, this Wolves side has lost recent games to cupcakes, including Cardiff City and Huddersfield.
Outside of the result, I really like the over in this match. In Bournemouth's last five matches, all of them have resulted in at least three goals. For the Wolves, their last three have all concluded with three goals.
Bets:
- Bournemouth to win. Confidence: 1
- Over 2.5 goals. Confidence: 4
Fulham vs. West Ham
My beloved Hammers are looking for their fourth straight victory, can you believe it? While Fulham may be the worst team in the league, winning on the road in the EPL is difficult. Wilshere and Perez will be out for the Hammers, but Pellegrini's system has been working of late regardless of injuries. West Ham has scored three goals in three straight matches. I like West Ham to win and I love the over at 2.5 goals.
Bets:
- West Ham United to win. Confidence: 3
- Over 2.5 goals. Confidence: 5
Brighton vs. Chelsea
Chelsea suffered a disappointing draw against MOL Vidi earlier this week after upsetting Manchester City and will now face Brighton on the road. I don't feel that this will be an easy matchup, but I do see Chelsea ending up on top 2-1.
Bets:
- Chelsea for the win. Confidence: 3
- Over 2.5 goals. Confidence: 3
Note: I've already placed my bet based on this level of confidence on the over/under, but after looking into this more, I would lower my confidence on "over 2.5 goals" to 1.
Southampton vs. Arsenal
Southampton sits tied for last in the EPL and they will host the Gunners this Sunday. Southampton has failed to take three points away from a match in their past five matches and they will be lucky if they can even grab one here. Three of their past five games have ended with four or five goals scored, so I'm taking Arsenal and the over.
Bets:
- Arsenal to win easily. Confidence: 5
- Over 2.5 goals. Confidence: 1
Liverpool vs. Manchester United
In the last match of the week, we get to watch one powerhouse face a falling giant. Manchester United has been a difficult puzzle to solve, and until they can consistently play competitively against top-tier teams, it's best to doubt their ability to do so. Liverpool wins.
Bets:
- Liverpool to win. Confidence: 3
- Over 2.5 goals. Confidence: 1
