I’m writing this pick post from the comfort of a train. I’m headed back home to connect with some friends. Tonight I’ll be playing some poker in a friendly “home game,” so I might share some details with you all in another blog.
I’ve been hot lately, picking several matches perfectly including a 1-0 victory for Fulham where Mitrovic was the lone scorer. I came out on top last weekend and hope that I can continue that success this week.
It feels like it’s been a month since our last taste of EPL action. There is a strong slate of games this weekend that starts with my West Ham United Hammers taking on the Arsenal Gunners at home. I’ve already predicted that my Hammers will come out on top, so here are the rest of my picks for this week.

Burnley vs. Fulham
Burnley is on a bit of a hot streak, coming off of three straight victories. They destroyed my Hammers 2-0 on December 30, defeated Huddersfield on the road 2-1, and most recently, defeated Barnsley in the 3rd round of the FA Cup 1-0. They welcome one of the worst teams in the Premier League, and although a draw is possible, I see a 2-0 victory for Burnley a more likely scenario. Burnley is currently 2.406 to win on BetScorum.com, and I love those odds.
Pick: Burnley 2-0. Confidence: 5
Leicester vs. Southampton
After originally choosing Leicester to win, I have decided that this is a match I simply would stay away from. Southampton has pulled off several surprising wins and draws this season, including defeating Arsenal, and I don’t trust Leicester’s recent form enough to be confident in the win here. I think this is a good game to not bet on this week. Just stay away or maybe back Southampton and the draw cautiously.
Crystal Palace vs. Watford
Both sides are struggling with injuries and have been playing solid defense other than Watford’s match against Bournemouth on January 2 (3-3). Crystal Palace have allowed a total of just one goal in their previous three matches. I think this match could go any of three ways as far as the result is concerned, so I’m going to focus on the over/under. I see a maximum of two goals being scored here, with even a 0-0 draw as a possibility. I may back Watford or the draw at 1.7, but am going to go hard on the under for this match.
Pick: Under 2.5. Confidence: 5
Cardiff City vs. Huddersfield
Cardiff will be without Danny Ward as they face Huddersfield, a team sitting in 20th in the standings with only 10 points. Huddersfield is a team without hope, but Cardiff doesn’t look that much better, dropping their last two Premier League matches against top talent (Tottenham, Leicester). I expect them to come out on top at home in a close, low-scoring match.
Pick 1: Cardiff City 1-0. Confidence: 4
Pick 2: Under 2.5. Confidence: 5
Brighton vs. Liverpool
Liverpool faced their first defeat of the season against Manchester City and they will be looking to put another win on their record against a confusing Brighton side. Brighton has surprised many teams this year, including their recent 1-0 defeat of Everton. They seem to rise to the level of their opponent, and after a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, don’t expect them to just roll over and die against heavily favored Liverpool. Liverpool isn’t in a freefall, but they are coming off a loss and may be okay with just a draw on the road.
Pick: 1-1 draw. Confidence: 3
