Liverpool are coming off two straight defeats as they head to Brighton, a team that is pretty much firmly in mid-table and going nowhere. Surely this will be a walk in the park for league leaders, Liverpool?

Brighton's home form has been pretty good, winning 5 of their 10 Home matches, raking in 18 points. They do have a problem facing the top sides though, winning only one match against the top 8 teams and losing 5 matches.

If Liverpool are to win their first premier league title in decades, winning games against teams like Brighton are a must. Their lead has been cut to just four points after last week's loss to Man City and this ought to provide extra incentive for the Reds to attack with intensity and get that win.

Bobby Firmino's form has started to pick up as of late and he helps to drag out the opposition defence, giving Mane and Salah extra space to work with. The last time these two teams met, at the start of the season, it was a low scoring 1-0 game in Liverpool's favor but that was the first time in 6 encounters that ended under 2.5 goals. I don't expect today's game to be low scoring.

Given the form Liverpool has been having in the league, i like taking them on the Asian Handicap, -1 and -1.5 seem reasonable. The danger i see is that Brighton have always been able to score at least a goal at home this season and that would require Liverpool to score 3, which might be a big ask. At odds of 2.0+ i think it's a worthwhile risk.

Pick: Liverpool -1.5 @ 2.013
