Europa League Final

Wednesday 26th May 20.00pm

It’s the Europa League Final on Wednesday and Villarreal take on Manchester United at the Stadion Energa Gdansk stadium. We take a look at the stats and best football tips.

Whilst it’s not the Champions League the Europa League is still a good trophy and both sides will certainly be motivated here. Manchester United rested the vast majority of their players in their recent Premier League match with Wolves with key man Bruno Fernandes left out completely. Villarreal did play their first team against Real Madrid at the weekend however they played the day before on the Saturday so the extra day recovery probably made a big difference to the respective managers plans.

Manchester United knocked out Roma at the Semi Final stage and won the first leg 6-2. That is a sign of the damage Manchester United can do on their day to decent European sides. Villarreal won their Semi Final against Arsenal, winning 2-1 at home and getting a 0-0 draw away.

Villarreal – Form

The Spanish side have been in good form winning three of their last five in La Liga and their second leg 0-0 with Arsenal was the only time in their last ten games they have failed to score including games against Real Madrid and Barcelona. They have scored ten goals in their last five La Liga matches and have also kept three clean sheets during that period.

Villarreal have averaged 4 corners and 1 card per game.

Manchester United – Form

The English side have only won two of their last five but their eyes have been firmly on the Europa League with their league position already decided. All five of those games took place in the Premier League and all saw both sides score a goal. Both sides also scored in their Semi Final matches against Roma and Man United are now seven in a row without a clean sheet. They have scored nine in their last five Premier League matches but also conceded nine goals in the same period.

Manchester United have averaged 4.6 corners and 1.4 cards per game.

Key Players: Bruno Fernandes has been the key man for Man United this season and has scored four goals in his last five starts. Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani have also been important in attack scoring three and six in their last five matches.

Betting Tips: I fully expect both sides to score given both sides incredible scoring records. Villarreal do appear to be the better side from a defensive point of view but i do expect Manchester United to have more than enough in attack to trouble them.
