In MMA I almost always bet on underdogs (if I see value in the bet). Because this sport is very different from other sports and there are a lot of unknowns (hidden injuries, weight cut problems, psychological problems, bad judging, etc.) and there are no teammates to take a bit of weight of your shoulders like in football or basketball. Also, you don't have any time to adjust like in tennis or other 1 on 1 sport. If you make a mistake in MMA you pay for that instantly. Boxing might be similar in that regard but it has way fewer variables and also it's rigged af.

In the upcoming UFC card, I picked Modafferi (@3.54 Moneyline) to win against Shevchenko. If the odds would be about equal I would probably stay away from this fight, but now it is too good to pass on.

Antonina Schevchenko is the sister of Valentina Schevchenko (current women's flyweight champ). She is a good, technical striker, but nowhere near Valentina's level. She has 7-0-0 record but hasn't yet met any really dangerous opponent in her career.

Modafferi, on the other hand, is a very crafty veteran (22 wins and 15 losses). She would have a huge advantage on the ground and she is not that bad in the striking department too! Her endurance should be better than Shevchenko's and she has a great chin too! You need to punch her with the world if you want to KO her (literally; her only KO loss is by a slam 9 years ago).
