With all the fuss being made by a few of the Premier League sides at the moment about the potential of playing games at neutral venues, it's interesting to see that in the Bundesliga, at least so far, home advantage doesn't seem to count for much when there are no fans.
The sample at present with less than 2 rounds completed is too small to jump to too many conclusions but the stats to date are as follows
Home wins - 3
Draws - 4
Away wins - 8
When you consider that 2 of those home wins are from Bayern Munich and Borrusia Dortmund the 2 sides who are head and shoulders above the rest of the league it suggests that in matches where the teams are more evenly matched, playing at home might actually be a disadvantage!
I think we'll know more in a couple of rounds time if there is anything to this theory or whether this is just a small statistical blip. If you do think it's a blip then here are some enhanced odds on all 3 home sides to win in today's matches.
