Being the first major European league to return to live-action has no doubt brought a lot of new fans yearning for sporting action over to the Bundesliga and from a neutrals perspective, Eintracht Frankfurt are certainly one of the teams to watch.

Their unpredictability makes them a little higher risk on some bets and no doubt is why you can still get them to win this match at better than 2.0 despite them playing against a Mainz side that has yet to win since the return of football. That being said they have won their last 2 and are unbeaten in 3 having lost their opening 2 games to top 4 teams (BMG and Bayern) so for me better than evens money still looks an attractive bet on this game.

In those 5 games, Eintracht Frankfurt have certainly seen plenty of action at both ends of the pitch scoring 11 times and conceding 12. Of course a 5-2 defeat by high-flying Bayern does warp those stats a bit and so for the purposes of analysis it's perhaps better to exclude that game

Outside of the likes of Bayern and RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt have looked like one of the best-attacking forces in the league this past month albeit with a tendency to concede soft goals at the other end.

Their opponents meanwhile have won just 2 points from their 4 games played to date and are now sat 3 points above automatic relegation. With the 2 sides directly above them (Union Berlin and Augsburg) both having winnable games this weekend, there is a real danger that Mainz could be cut adrift of the pack and left in a relegation dog fight in the bottom 4.

Swedish forward Robin Quaison has been a key player for Mainz this year and his early-season form had pushed them clear of the relegation zone. However, he's struggled to re-capture the kind of touch that saw him averaging a goal every other game and without him providing an attacking threat Mainz have looked short of ideas up-front.

At the other end an injury to pacey defender Jeremiah St. Juste is also not helping their cause and with first-choice goalkeeper Robin Zentner damaging a cruciate ligament during the enforced break it is tempting to suggest that the wheels might be about to come off this Mainz side.

Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt to win at odds of 2.0 or better
