FC Koln v RB Leipzig Prediction & Preview

Monday night's Bundesliga match sees mid-table FC Koln take on high flying RB Leipzig in a match that I am predicting will see plenty of goals.

RB Leipzig have yet to really hit their stride since the return of live football 3 three weeks ago dropping points against Hertha and Freiburg and know that a performance tonight is crucial in their hunt for a Champions League spot next year. A win in this fixture would catapult them back above Bayer Leverkusen & Borrusia Moenchengladbach to 3rd and with the race for the title itself all but finished it is the late scramble for a place in Europe's premier club competition that draws the most attention.

RB Leipzig have been banging in goals for fun this year led by their main man and Liverpool target Timo Werner who has netted 28 times this season already. Overall, Leipzig have the 3rd most proficient attack in the Bundesliga behind only the top 2 of Bayern and Dortmund. They put 5 past Mainz in their last away game and the reverse fixture between these 2 sides saw them win 4-1 back in October.

Timo Werner is one of the hottest properties in German football at the moment and could well join Premier League champions elect Liverpool this summer

FC Koln for their part have had a fairly unpredictable season that sees them sitting comfortably clear of relegation but not really showing the form that might see them return to the Europa League again next year (remember they beat Arsenal in this year's competition). However, while it's difficult to predict the results of this FC Koln team what does stand out is that they themselves are on a 14 match scoring streak dating all the way back to 8th December.

With Jhon Córdoba and Mark Uth in attack expect Koln to challenge a Leipzig defence that conceded twice in their last fixture against Hertha Berlin. For their part, Koln have very little to play for in terms of league position and this is just the kind of game where they might come out swinging and land a couple of blows themselves.

Based on the above I am going with the following predictions

Both Teams to Score (BTTS) - Prices over 1.50

Over 3.5 goals - Prices over - Prices over 2.05
