Australian Open SF: Nadal v Tsitsipas Bet
Good lord, i can't hit a barn door with a banjo these days, it seems. Frustrating number of bets going the wrong way over the past day and a half so maybe you should fade this. Anyway, i'm going to ride the Tsitsipas train today and he should be good enough for a set at least, surely? Unfortunately, if we look at their head to head meetings, they met twice last year, and both times Tsitsipas lost in straight sets. He did push Nadal close in one of the sets on hard court, so that does provide some encouragement. Tsitsipas has been the best young player of the tournament, with impressive wins over Federer and RBA. More than Federer, i thought the RBA win was super impressive as RBA had been in good form and has been beating the top players himself. As for Nadal, what can i say? He has been in dominant form, not even dropping a set all tournament long so far. It's also worth noting that Nadal has a good record against one-handed backhand players. I'm expecting an exciting match and the key will be how well Tsitsipas can neutralize the threat of Nadal's forehand. If he can deal with the bounce, then he stands a good shot of pushing Nadal. So far, no one has been able to do so which explains the odds of 1.76 to give Tsitsipas a +2.5 sets advantage. I made the same analysis last year at Wimbledon when it was Djokovic v Anderson and that didn't work out at all with Djoko winning in straight sets. I'll bite at 1.76 since i don't have in-game betting but i'd highly recommend watching how the first set plays out before putting money on this. Pick: Tsitsipas + 2.5 sets @1.767
