Using the above picture to reference a craps layout, this tutorial should be very easy.

"PASS LINE BET"-The most basic and common bet on the craps table.

Place a bet for at least the table minimum onto the "pass line" area. On your 1st roll(the come out roll), if you roll a 7 or 11 you win the amount of your bet. If you roll a 2, 3, or 12 you lose your bet. If you roll a point number; 4,5,6,8,9, or 10 then "The Point" is established.
Once the point is established, you must roll your point number before you roll a 7. If you do, you win your pass line bet. If the 7 shows before your point number then you lose your pass line bet. Once the point is established, the 2, 3, 11, and 12 are inconsequential. They neither win nor lose.

"Don't Pass"- the most hated bet(by other players). Complete opposite of the Pass Line bet. On the come out roll, 7 and 11 lose. 2 and 3 win. 12 is a push(tie-no money exchanged). Once the point is established, you must roll a 7 before the point number to win. Once you get a point number established, the house odds are HEAVILY in your favor to win your Don't Pass bet. What makes this bet virtually the same odds as the "pass line" is the simple fact that the 7 and 11 lose on the come out roll. Most people do not bet on the the Don't Pass "The Dark Side" because essentially you are betting against yourself or whomever is tossing the dice.

The Pass line/Don't Pass bets are some of the best bets in the entire casino. In my next tutorial I will explain how to shave the house edge on these bets even lower by applying "Odds Bets" to these bets. Please check back soon.
