Last week, Bayern Munich secured further promotion to the knockout phase of the Champions League. Head coach Flick has therefore decided that their top players should stay at home in Germany rather than take part in Tuesday's clash against Atletico Madrid.

They are Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso and Robert Lewandowski, and it could provide playing time for several new faces in the Bayer squad, who have problems in the defensive midfield.

19-year-old Angelo Stiller can thus make his debut in the Champions League tomorrow. The German has only played a single match for Bayern Munich this season when he got a half against 1. FC Düren in the DFB-Pokal.

Maximilian Zaiser, on the other hand, is new to the squad and has not previously played a first-team match for the defending Champions League winners. It can therefore be a difficult debut for both players, as they will have to face Atletico Madrid, who are still struggling to advance in the group.
