ALBERTO Machado (20-0) from Puerto Rico, defended his WBA super featherweight title with a victory over Ghana's Rafael Mensah in The Joint, Las Vegas, USA, Saturday or Sunday (22/7).

Mensah (31-1) who had never lost before, and was the first to fight outside of Ghana, riding a ring with a number of problems accompanying him. Her daughter, for example, died last month of malaria. He also claimed to have never paid enough money in the previous 30's game.

It may be the cause he was less ready to face Machado who appear brutal throughout 12 rounds. He won by a landslide, 120-107 in three judges on duty. Throughout the fight, the shorter Mensah even had trouble approaching Machado to land a dangerous blow.

Machado had dropped Mensah in round 1 and at the end of round 4 really made Mensah overwhelmed. In round 5, it appears puffy on the right side of Mensah's face as if just hit hard on her chin or cheekbones cracked.

After that, Machado did not seem to pursue a KO victory and Mensah's enduring effort until the end of the round deserves an appreciation.
