Yoel Finol was awarded the silver medal for his performance at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, after the original winner of the medal, Russian Misha Aloian, was disqualified for doping. Finol had originally won the bronze medal.

The decision was communicated by the Department of Relations with the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the IOC, after the disqualification of the Russian fighter Misha Aloian, who had originally signed the silver in the fly category, behind the Uzbek Shahobiddin Zoirov and ahead of Finol and Chinese Hu Jianguan.

Aloian tested positive for tuaminoheptane, a stimulant with nasal decongestant and vasoconstrictor properties.
