Prime Larry Holmes V. Prime Sonny Liston head to head, 15 rounds for the Heavyweight Championship. Who I got and who I think will definitely take home the belt.
For me, i'd say larry Holmes for his speed and left jab and reach and yeah it would be one hell of a fight considering how great a boxer sonny is, Sonny might make interesting by hurting him or scoring a possible knockdown, but Larry would be in control from start to finish.
So I will put my money on Larry because Larry has the best left jab in all of boxing history. Better than Ali. Only lost in his shadow, and grossly underrated. If a prime Cassius Clay could beat Liston twice, and under dubious, questionable circumstances, then Holmes would easily finish him.
Sonny Liston was among the very best, but Larry is the best in my lifetime of 55 years, and 6th or 7th greatest heavyweight of all time. Despite his incredible record of 48-0 before losing his first fight, just one fight shy of Marciano's record, Larry was penalized by history, and is more underrated than Ezzard Charles.
