This is one of the best ever boxing fight, it really is, in this fight I give Basillio a LOT of credit. The 2nd fight, both his(Carmen Basilio) eyes were virtually swollen shut & he NEVER stopped pressuring Ray. They REALLY should’ve broken the tie. I thought both decisions were correct. And let’s be clear: of course he wasn’t as great as he was at 147. ( Who WAS ? ) but you still gotta give Sugar a TON of respect for coming back from these “retirements “ to fight the TOP middleweights there to fight. He didn’t lose to bottom tier fighters.
