Manny Pacquiao assured that he will accept Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s proposal to dispute the revenge fight, which could take place in December of this year, reported Diario Marca. The negotiations on the combat will be closed during this week, Philippine media quoted yesterday. December figures as the most likely date for the reunion of the two gladiators, since Pacquiao, 39, is currently a senator in the Philippines and discussions on the country's budgets will not allow him to train normally in the coming weeks. Mayweather presented the offer to Pacquiao last Saturday, when the American and the Filipino met at a concert in Tokyo.

Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision on May 2, 2015 at the Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, in a fight that was highly promoted and ended in disappointment. The bout generated a record 4.6 million pay-per-view purchases, and Pacquiao blamed a shoulder injury on the fact that he was only able to connect 81 of his blows in the bout. Mayweather, victorious in all 50 fights, hasn't been in the ring in a year since her knockout to Conor McGregor, a martial arts star who played his first professional boxing match. That fight was held on August 26, 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

According to analysts, Floyd Mayweather, 41, won about 220 million dollars for his fight with Pacquiao and at that time published a photo of a check for 100 million dollars: his guaranteed fight bag. Pacquiao, the Filipino idol who will turn 40 on Dec. 17, lost to unknown Australian fighter Jeff Horn last year and then beat Argentina's Lucas Matthysse in Malaysia last month to regain the world welterweight title. Pacquiao is the only boxer in history who has won 9 world titles in 8 categories. The Filipino has a record of 60 wins with 39 knockouts, 2 draws and 7 defeats.
